Gopher Resource Receives Sustainability Award
Nonprofit Call2Recycle Presents Gopher Resource with "Leader in Sustainability" Award
To recognize the considerable contribution Gopher Resource has made as an environmental steward, Call2Recycle recently awarded the company a "Leader in Sustainability" award. Tim Warren, Call2Recycle's central regional account manager, presented the award to Daniel Leach, chief business development officer for Gopher Resource.
Gopher Resource was given the award
based on its continued commitment to the reclamation and environmentally
responsible recycling of automotive batteries.
“It’s an honor to be recognized by
our industry partners for the good work we’re doing,” Leach said. “The
foundation of our company is its commitment to using safe, sustainable practices
and advanced technologies.” Annually, Gopher Resource keeps approximately 20
million spent lead-based automotive, industrial and stationary batteries from
entering landfills.
Founded in 1994, Call2Recycle is
North America’s first and largest battery stewardship program. The nonprofit provides
a no-cost used rechargeable
battery and cellphone collection
program with more than 34,000 collection sites throughout North America.
Call2Recycle is funded by battery and product manufacturers committed to
responsible recycling.
