99% Battery Recycling Rate: Cound It Be Standard for Other Solid Waste Industries?
Posted: December 22, 2015
Americans have made substantial progress in how they recycle or compost waste. Without question, the "star" of that movement has been lead-acid battery recycling at 99 percent. Moving forward, could those companies inspire the same for paper, aluminum, electronics and more?
Maybe, according to a recent op-ed story distributed by Tribune News Service. An environmental professor explains how incentives and the EPA's promotion of sustainable materials management could help boost recycling rates.
