The European Advanced Lead-Acid Battery Consortium (EALABC) provides highlights of a technical paper outlining the consortium’s approach to low voltage hybridization. Foremost, the introduction of 48V mild hybrid powertrains will help carmakers comply with stringent CO2 regulations and boost fuel efficiency.
The EALABC will inform automotive industry executives this week of the environmental and cost benefits of advanced lead-carbon batteries now being commercialized for a new generation of low cost 48V ‘super hybrid’ vehicles.
